Something Else

This will be my final post for a long time. Maybe forever. Who knows. :) I have been writing intensely for about six years, with four published books and many others in the works. But I feel life pulling me in a different direction. I am home schooling my children this year and taking on more music students. I am also going back to school myself. Writing, needless to say, is going on the way-back burner. Actually, I'm turning the element off completely. I'm not going to school for writing, but for something else. I don't know if I will ever write another novel again. Or if I do, I will most likely only publish it for the sake of having my own copy and giving copies to my children. Thank you to those who have supported me, read my books, sent e-mails, followed my facebook page, attended launch parties and signings, conversed with me about writing, anything or nothing and helped me wade through this challenging industry. It is not for me. I am learning more and more about myself and while I will always be a writer, working in publishing and marketing is not my thing.

Thank you for sharing this journey with me.

Love,

Melissa

Melissa, I admire you! You have accomplished a lot as a writer, and your books are beautiful and a joy to read. I wish you all the best with homeschooling (which I know firsthand will bless your life and your children's lives), and with your continued pursuit of your own education. I do hope you'll blog once in a while to share your new adventures with us.

I feel ya, Melissa. Ever since I finished The Network, I haven't done any novel writing. I've jotted down a few ideas, but I have turned my focus to finishing my degree (which I will finally get this December - yay!). I will get back into novel writing, but I'm like you... the marketing and stuff is not fun, and it is hard! What I've come to learn is that I love to write, and I know that my writing won't please every body, but I enjoy it. So I write for myself. :) Keep writing, at least for yourself. It will make you happy!

I also wanted to thank you for your help in the past! I am a better writer because of you. And thank you for your books! I've enjoyed reading them, and while you are taking a hiatus from writing, I will miss seeing your stuff. I bet you'll come back, though!

Good luck on life's new adventures!
