I can't think of a specific book I'm thankful for. I would say the book I'm most thankful for is the one I'm reading at the moment. Nothing helps me escape reality for a moment like a book.

I'm grateful for books in general! I'm one of those people that when the book is over think about the characters as if they were still living their lives. I love it!
I love books. I've been reading since I was too small for school and I'll be reading until the day I die, probably. I've got so many favorites that I go back to time and again, that it would be hard to list them all.

Having to spend time in the hospital as a child, my favorite books were the Laura Ingalls Wilder "Little House on the Prarie" books. Must have read them all ten times each!

I'm extremely grateful to Sarah Dessen's book 'Lock and Key' for showing me such realistic characters that everyone can relate to. Her messages of love, hope and humility have stuck with me throughout my teens, and I can never forget how 'Lock and Key' has influenced me to become a better person.

This is a great question Melissa. I have a few books that I read every year or at least try to. One of them is My Name is Asher Lev. I just love the way Chaim Potok describes the relationships in this Jewish family and the journey they all must go on to do and be that which they believe in. Books for me are not only an escape but a sense of meditation and reflection on what is happening in my own life. I truly believe you can learn something to better yourself in just about every book you read.

I am very thankful for my Bible!!
If I had to pick one book my answer would sound like JuneA**'s so I'll answer why I'm grateful for books.

Books have offered my the education that would have cost me an arm and leg to get from 'learned people.' They raise my level of living. I am a better person because of books.

I am thankful for "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." This was the first book I can remember reading as a child that allowed me to use my imagination. It caused me to imagine my own worlds or at least ponder the possibilities that there could be other worlds. Thank you for asking!

I'm thankful for books that move me and make me see things in a different way. It's hard to choose a specific one but I'd say The Last Battle from The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis and Brave Story by Miyuki Miyabe.
